It is important not to lose sight of what your wedding day is really about and not be too caught up with the grand production as to miss the point of why you are really here.
Keep your focus on the warm honey glow of your love for each other at this time and build on that, everything else is secondary in the grand scheme of things.
Of course you want to make it a special day for all of your close family and friends who you invite along to celebrate your love with you, but really, all that matters at the end of the day is how well you, as a couple fare through and communicate.
It is a day you will reflect on time and time again, so it is important that you do so with fond memories and a big grin from ear to ear; to think that you had a wonderful wedding day and your celebration went seamlessly as possible.
Try to plan ahead as much as you can; make lists and give yourself more time than you think you need to do things. A fabulous guide to help you is my Wedding Preparation Check list. There’s a lot to think about to bringing everything together so that you will have the most special day and it is important that this time is fun for you.
Once you employ an experienced celebrant with good local knowledge, you can take a deep breath and a sigh of relief that you are in the best hands possible to guide you on the way, to help you make everything about your wedding day run smoothly.
Your venue is ready for your arrival with your guests in waiting, transport arrived, the music has been chosen, the seating arrangements done, flowers and cake have been ordered, menu sorted, photographer is in place, then all you can do is let go and let it unfold the way that it will with confidence that it will be perfect, even in its imperfections, you will know it is all as it is meant to be.
During the planning and on the day, check in with yourself, how you are going? So you slow your self down and do not become over anxious. Take time for yourself for balance and rejuvenation before your big day. Go to the spa and relax or go for a walk on the beach on your wedding morning. Make sure that you eat something and have some food and non-alcoholic drinks while are you getting ready. Plan to be ready at least half an hour before you need to be so that you can just chill out and relax and have fun before you arrive at the sight of your ceremony.
